upper bettws farm – since 1640
The farm at Upper Bettws was first established in 1640 and it still retains a range of its historic buildings. It sits at 900 feet high, within the Bannau Bryceiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park and consequently boasts spectacular panoramic views across the Bettws valley to the striking Sugar Loaf Mountain and onto the wild and rugged Black Mountains.
Wind your way up a private lane to arrive at the farmstead and the cottages. As you drive into the farm please watch out for our free range chickens! The views will take your breath away and you will notice the quiet which gets broken by the sound of bird song or the bleating of sheep. Look overhead and you might catch sight of red kites, buzzards or a goshawk. At dusk you may well hear or spot a tawny or barn owl or even catch a glimpse of one of our local badgers.
Whilst the cottages are off the beaten track the vibrant market towns of Abergavenny and Crickhowell are only a 15 minute drive away, with many fantastic shops, restaurants and pubs.
